Terracon Acquires Wang Engineering
Terracon, an employee-owned firm with a long history of providing excellence in engineering consulting services, is pleased to announce it has acquired Wang Engineering Inc. (Wang) of Lombard, Illinois, which specializes in geotechnical engineering, construction inspection, and materials testing services.

Over the past 39 years, Wang has provided geotechnical services to a wide range of clients throughout the U.S. including state and federal government as well as the private sector. The company has extensive experience performing geotechnical services for the City of Chicago, the Illinois and Indiana departments of transportation, and on other public transportation projects including highways, tollways, and railroads.

A subsidiary company, Wang Testing Services, Inc., has been sold separately and was not purchased by Terracon as part of the acquisition. Wang Engineering and Terracon will continue to work with Wang Testing Services, Inc. as a teaming partner.

Wang's 25 employees will immediately become part of Terracon. The firm will continue to operate locally as Wang Engineering Inc., A Terracon Company, and the transition will be seamless for clients. The new acquisition is supported by Terracon's existing offices in Chicago, Glendale Heights, Downers Grove, and Hartford, Illinois, as well as offices throughout Indiana and nearby states.

Rio Grande Pacific Corporation Announces Engineering and Construction Teams for Uinta Basin Railway Project

Rio Grande Pacific Corporation through its Rio Grande Pacific Group portfolio company Basin Railway Constructors, LLC (“BRC”) announced today it has selected the engineering and construction firms for the final engineering and construction of the Uinta Basin Railway, the 85-mile-long common-carrier railway that will provide the first-ever common-carrier railway service to northeastern Utah’s Uinta Basin region. Construction and operation of the Uinta Basin Railway project was authorized by the U.S. Surface Transportation Board on December 15, 2021. The railway will serve mineral, energy, agricultural, construction, and manufacturing industries in the Uinta Basin. The railway project was initiated by the Seven County Infrastructure Coalition, a political subdivision of the State of Utah, in 2018. The Ute Indian Tribe of the Uintah and Ouray Reservation is an equity partner in the railway. Hoffmann Green Signs a Major Distribution Contract With BOUYGUES IMMOBILIER

LES MARQUISES: a mixed project comprising over 100 homes, apartments and houses, in Nantes city center. K2: a residence comprising 294 homes, common areas and ground-floor activity facilities for students in Angers. LE CLOS SAINT-FRANCOIS: a mixed housing project comprising 118 apartments and 12 houses located in the heart of the former Sœurs de Saint-François d’Assises site in Saint-Philibert de Grand Lieu. As well as reducing CO2 emissions by 80%, feedback from these trials highlighted that the technical and implementation quality of decarbonized concrete notably during the pouring is identical to that of traditional concrete. Following these tests that have proved more than conclusive, the two companies have decided to accelerate their collaboration through the signing of a partnership contract with volume commitments that includes Hoffmann’s entire cement range: H-EVA, H-UKR and H-IONA.
