Hoffmann Green Cement Technologies an industrial player committed to decarbonizing the construction sector that designs and distributes innovative clinker-free cement, announces the signing of a partnership with Bouygues Immobilier, a key real-estate developer on the French market for over 60 years.
Within the framework of the collaboration between the two entities, the Hoffmann Green and Bouygues Immobilier teams have been able, over the last 12 months, to undertake specific technical trials with Hoffmann cement.
The clinker-free decarbonized cement was able to be tested on several Bouygues Immobilier construction sites:
SKYLINE: a 4-star business tourism residence with 127 rooms including 20 suites, in the heart of Angers.
LES MARQUISES: a mixed project comprising over 100 homes, apartments and houses, in Nantes city center.
K2: a residence comprising 294 homes, common areas and ground-floor activity facilities for students in Angers.
LE CLOS SAINT-FRANCOIS: a mixed housing project comprising 118 apartments and 12 houses located in the heart of the former Sœurs de Saint-François d’Assises site in Saint-Philibert de Grand Lieu.
As well as reducing CO2 emissions by 80%, feedback from these trials highlighted that the technical and implementation quality of decarbonized concrete notably during the pouring is identical to that of traditional concrete.
Following these tests that have proved more than conclusive, the two companies have decided to accelerate their collaboration through the signing of a partnership contract with volume commitments that includes Hoffmann’s entire cement range: H-EVA, H-UKR and H-IONA. Hoffmann Green will supply its 0% Clinker decarbonised concrete to Bouygues Immobilier as of this year for the realisation of a number of large-scale construction projects throughout France.

The Eastern Michigan University alumni group, GameAbove, donates $610,000 to the GameAbove College of Engineering and Technology for a new upscale 38,000 sq. ft. park on the University's campus. Land construction began in the spring 2021 and is scheduled for completion for the fall semester and start of the 2022 academic year.
The new park is on the site of the former president's house between Goddard Residence Hall and Sill Hall, which more recently housed a sorority. The redevelopment plans cover the area south of Legacy-Sponberg Theatres to West Forest Avenue. The newly landscaped space around the south side of Sill Hall toward Lowell Street will offer outdoor studying and a gathering area for students and faculty. EMU selected Michigan-based civil engineering company PEA Group to lead the redevelopment.
"We are excited to bring this amazing space to the campus," said Karen LeVert, GameAbove advisory board member. "The renovated Sill Hall offers an incredible academic experience for students pursuing their degrees in STEM-related fields. We want to help extend the innovative design to the outside areas surrounding the building, and that is our goal here with the new park." Along with LeVert, other GameAbove members who contributed to planning the project are Jeff Bourdon, Jack Brusewitz, Chris Kaufman, and Craig Petersmark.

More than 45 new trees and shrubs, including seasonal flowering trees
Nine seating walls
Paved circular drive
Up to six new sculptures
Beautification efforts such as the new park enhance the visual appearance on campus and help with recruiting new students and retaining existing students. hyperTunnel, the British underground construction innovator, has received a financial investment from VINCI, a global leader in concessions, energy and construction businesses. The funds will be used for business expansion and to further develop and test hyperTunnel's revolutionary construction method in practical situations.
The deal further strengthens hyperTunnel's connections with VINCI Construction technical departments. hyperTunnel recently joined VINCI's innovation platform Leonard as a member of its start-up accelerator programme, Catalyst. hyperTunnel also won the prestigious annual Construction Start-up Competition in Miami last year, which Leonard co-organises with other sector heavyweights such as Ferrovial and Cemex Ventures.

Last week, the European Innovation Council (EIC), Europe's flagship innovation programme to identify, develop and scale up breakthrough technologies and game-changing innovations, selected hyperTunnel to receive funding of 1.88 million Euros under its EIC Accelerator scheme. The funding will be used to complete the development of hyperTunnel's advanced swarm robotics underground construction platform.
