Four dresser designs that might have prevented the 29-million-unit Ikea recall

Last month Ikea recalled 29 million chests and drawers, including 8 million from the company’s Malm line, after numerous reported accidents and at least six deaths, possibly seven, going back to 2005. Ikea USA president Lars Petersson said it’s an industry problem, “The only truly safe way to have a chest of drawers in your house is to secure it to the wall,” according to FastCoDesign.
