Epson Robots Releases Integrated Force Feedback Control System

In order for robots to do more than follow point-programmed paths, they need sensors to detect the environment around them. The Force Guide is a force-control system that enables robots to sense and utilize force feedback data to make high-precision moves. The system enables robots to detect up to six axes of force, via its multi-axis, rigid, torque/force sensor, with a precision level approaching 0.1 N and a high tolerance for excessive force.
Powered by a servo-system configuration that delivers real-time data which can also be stored for quality control purposes, the Force Guide is able to deliver quick tactile feedback that helps to guide robots for high-precision part placement.
