Diehl Aviation inaugurates engineering service center

The investment was supported by a HUF 968 million grant from the Hungarian government, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said at the ceremony. Szijjarto noted that Diehl Aviation Hungary has turned out parts for Airbus aircraft at its base in nearby Nyirbator for years, and acknowledged the impact of the staffʼs outstanding work on Diehlʼs decision to establish the engineering and service center in Debrecen.
Diehl Aviation CEO Rainer von Borstel said headcount at the center now stands at 60, but staff growth is expected to be strong. Roman Damschke, who heads the center, noted that the local university, from which Diehl Aviation has made many hires, played a big role in the companyʼs choice of Debrecen.
