ABB partners with Sauber Engineering as global technology partner

ABB has partnered with motorsport specialist Sauber Engineering as an official global technology partner. The collaboration will focus on e-mobility and the development of carbon neutral and sustainable projects. The company is set to install the latest in EV charging technology at Sauber’s Hinwil headquarters in Switzerland, to provide power to the company’s ever-growing number of electric vehicles owned by employees. The all-new charging station will be powered by the country’s largest photovoltaic field found on top of Sauber’s parking lot. Sauber and ABB have already been in a technical partnership long before, with ABB having provided frequency converters to control fan speed in the company’s state-of-the-art wind tunnel used to develop the engineering brand’s Formula 1 cars. Both companies are said to be using the new and future collaboration to push sustainability goals forward, which include ABB’s mission-to-zero initiative, and Sauber’s own target to reduce carbon emissions and increase energy efficiency in all its operations.
