Taos Academy has advanced to the final round of Samsung's Solve for Tomorrow nationwide STEM contest. Two other New Mexico schools, Mescalero Apache High School in Mescalero and Ojo Amarillo Elementary School in Fruitland, also advanced to the state-winner level. Each of the three schools will receive $15,000 worth of Samsung technology and classroom electronics. Samsung Electronics America announced the 100 state winners Wednesday in its $3 million nationwide competition that challenges grade 6-12 students to develop solutions using science, technology, engineering and math skills to spark change in their communities.
