ICE London Civil Engineering Awards 2018 shortlisted projects announced

The Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) has today released its shortlist of 10 projects being considered for the top accolades in its London Civil Engineering Awards 2018. Awards will be given for Best Infrastructure Project, Innovation, and Community Benefit. All projects are also considered for the Greatest Contribution to London Award, in association with the Mayor of London.
The Awards ceremony is the most prestigious event in London's civil engineering calendar and is being held in association with SNC-Lavalin and Atkins, which together form a globally fully integrated professional services and project management company and is a major player in the ownership of infrastructure.
Marking 200 years of the Institution of Civil Engineers, this year's ceremony will take place during a black-tie awards dinner on Thursday 24 May 2018 in the Institution's Great Hall in Westminster.
The evening will be presented by Maggie Philbin OBE, former presenter of the BBC's Tomorrow World and current President of the Institution of Engineering Designers, and is hosted by Professor Lord Robert Mair, President of the Institution of Civil Engineers, joined by 200 London-based civil engineering and built environment professionals.

Comfort Systems USA Announces Acquisition

Comfort Systems USA, Inc. today announced that it has closed its previously announced transaction to acquire Summit Industrial Construction, LLC (“Summit”) headquartered in Houston, Texas. As previously disclosed, Summit is a specialty industrial mechanical contractor offering engineering, design-assist and turnkey, direct hire construction services of modular systems serving the advanced technology, power, and industrial sectors. Summit’s capabilities encompass a wide range of modular and site-based construction, including process piping, equipment setting, large pipe rack trestles, and related steel erection and specialty concrete work. Summit is a trusted supplier to some of the world’s largest advanced technology, power and industrial companies and is currently deployed on several major chip fabrication projects. Initially, Summit is expected to contribute annualized revenues of approximately $375 million to $400 million, and earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization of $35 million to $40 million. In light of the amortization expense, Summit is expected to make a neutral to slightly accretive contribution to earnings per share in 2024 and 2025.
