A typical BPM effort involves straight-through process automation of tasks that need to be handed over the systems or applications. Humans perform the activities where unstructured decision making is needed or in cases where it is simply not possible to automate the task. This is where dual data-entry, swivel chair scenarios for data transfer and some of the mundane approval operations gained prominence among human tasks.

How can construction crack its skills shortage?

October 14, 2022 | 6:00 AM ET

Construction has bounced back quicker than expected from the Covid-19 pandemic and the industry is set to reach 2019 levels of output in 2022. However, the sector still faces a significant skills challenge and according to the Construction Industry Training Board by 2025, the industry will need to recruit an additional 217,000 new workers just to meet demand. The government’s Build Back Better drive is placing increasing pressure on the industry to deliver and the sector also needs to invest in the skills that will drive change and meet new and growing needs such as net zero emissions and building safety. That means an increasing focus on specific skills and occupations such as leadership and management, digital skills and skills related to energy efficiency.

Robot Simulation: Make the Most of Your Investment in Automated Manufacturing

September 05, 2022 | 1:00 PM ET

Manufacturers in every industry are adopting robotic automation at an accelerating rate. The investment required for automation is often significant and comes with a host of options. What type or size of Robot should be selected? What throughput can be achieved through this new system? Will the workcell fit into my production line? All of these questions can be answered with Robot Simulation Software. This multi-function tool is invaluable in modeling complicated manufacturing systems. In addition to explaining how Robot Simulation Software can be utilized, this presentation will provide Case Studies that demonstrate how simulation early in the project can avoid later problems with Robot integration.

Generating AMI Models for SerDes Applications

July 14, 2022 | 1:00 PM ET

The latest technology for serial links and memory interfaces is getting into the multi-gigabit range. We see them adopting multi-level modulations and more advanced data recovery methods. As a result creating a stable and compliant design is more challenging than ever before and standard signal integrity analysis is no longer sufficient. AMI (Algorithmic Modeling Interface) has become the industry standard for modeling and simulating SerDes transmitter and receiver behaviors. It includes equalization, and CDR (Clock Data Recovery) used for PCIe, USB, and Ethernet applications. It also helps SerDes design engineers to simulate their system quickly and accurately to determine BER (Bit Error Rate) and Eye Density. However, it is typically a challenging task to build an accurate AMI model that describes complex silicon. In this webinar, we show an easy-to-use workflow using PathWave ADS. Key Learnings: The basics of AMI Generating AMI models with a wizard-driven AMI Model Builder Using AMI Models in a channel simulation
