Infotech and HDR Work Together to Expand BIM Solutions for Civil Infrastructure Projects

Infotech | June 24, 2022

Infotech, a leader in infrastructure construction software solutions, announced today a consulting collaboration with HDR to conduct an industry assessment of its current products and services in order to expand the company’s Building Information Modeling (BIM) offerings and its impact on digital delivery and advancing open data standards. As experts in the use of BIM and digital project delivery for transportation infrastructure, HDR will consult Infotech on the company’s strategic BIM for Infrastructure (BIMFi) plan. Infotech has developed and improved e-Construction solutions that address each phase of the contract lifecycle for 40 years. These solutions automate construction contract processes from estimation to bidding to construction inspection and management in order to provide an open, collaborative environment for effective oversight of an organization’s construction portfolio. Infotech’s solutions, such as Appia® and Bid Express®, and its longstanding position as the official contractor for AASHTOWare Project™, position the company to help accelerate the adoption of BIM within the infrastructure industry. “Infrastructure construction leaders are trying to connect their existing e-Construction solutions with their BIM strategy, and Infotech offers key points of connection between owners and their contractors to capture data that feeds into the BIM design. Understanding BIM and future industry expectations is critical for the success of civil infrastructure projects, and we are excited to collaborate with HDR to enhance our BIMFi strategy.” -Chad Schafer, Infotech Vice President of Revenue. HDR is a full-service engineering, architecture, environmental and construction services firm specializing in both horizontal and vertical infrastructure. In 2022, its transportation program was ranked in the Top 5 design firms in the United States by Engineering News-Record. As a leader in the application and integration of digital delivery methods, they specialize in engineering design, construction management, and data acquisition services. In addition, the firm offers advisory services for enterprise digital workflows to support lifecycle data strategies for managing transportation infrastructure. HDR is currently working with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), buildingSMART International (bSI), American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), and American Roadway Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA) to research, promote and advance digital delivery initiatives in the U.S. transportation industry. The firm is renowned for navigating the changing environment of BIM and digital delivery as well as leveraging enterprise data to advance infrastructure projects. “There are tremendous opportunities in this industry to leverage digital data to inform decisions during the design, construction, operations and maintenance phases. We are strong advocates for open data standards to more efficiently connect the different business areas, which will make it easier to collaborate and provide digital information that can be used to improve the project delivery process from start to finish. Our collaboration with Infotech will help advance these processes.” -Alexa Mitchell, HDR Transportation BIM Program Manager. Infotech and HDR will work together to expand the use of BIM throughout project delivery of civil infrastructure projects by focusing on open data standards to support the asset lifecycle. It is extremely common for data to be siloed across business areas both for the owner and the contractor. Now, when you talk about BIM and digital project delivery, it is all about collaboration and managing the full asset lifecycle. The United States is behind when it comes to open data standards, and together, we are two leaders in the industry focused on advancing the adoption of these best practices to help our industry move forward, faster.” About Infotech Info Tech, Inc., DBA Infotech (Infotech) is a leading SaaS solutions provider for the infrastructure construction industry. ValGenesis Acquires 4Tune Engineering, Extends Product Portfolio with Best-in-Class Risk Management and Verification Software Platforms

ValGenesis | June 16, 2022

ValGenesis, Inc., the market leader in enterprise Validation Lifecycle Management Systems (VLMS), has acquired Portugal-based 4Tune Engineering (4TE), a leader in manufacturing sciences and technologies (MS&T) that enable the world's most successful life sciences companies to model their risk management programs and improve process performance across the entire GMP lifecycle. The acquisition was initiated when ValGenesis leadership saw the strategic product synergy for customers requiring a complete and more integrated platform across the validation lifecycle focusing on Pharma 4.0. The acquisition was completed on June 6th, 2022. A pioneer of 100% paperless validation technology with 30 of the top 50 global life sciences companies using ValGenesis VLMS as the system of record for their validation programs, ValGenesis has steadily expanded its product vision beyond core validation into a holistic manufacturing intelligence platform. The acquisition of 4TE accelerates that vision. 4TE's advanced risk management platform (iRISK Platform®), used by 10 of the top 30 global life science companies, enables comprehensive risk management in the product lifecycle. In addition, 4TE's continuous process verification software system (iSEE Platform™) enables real-time Stage 3 monitoring for process validation and supports Annual Product Quality Reviews (APQR). ValGenesis Validation Lifecycle Management System (VLMS) remains the industry standard for Stage 2 validation. The acquisition also provides ValGenesis a boosted presence in the European and LATAM markets and access to a driven, talented team. The Lisbon office of 4TE will continue to orchestrate the development and go-to-market plans of iRisk and iSee with bolstering support from ValGenesis. The future never looked brighter for ValGenesis and 4TE employees, partners, customers, and the entire life sciences industry. California's Bobcat Company Brings Electric-powered Construction Equipment Innovations

Bobcat Company | May 27, 2022

Bobcat Company ("Bobcat"), a global leader in compact equipment innovation, recently demonstrated the capabilities of its battery-powered construction equipment lineup at a series of test drives and live demonstrations in Granada Hills and Stockton, California, near Los Angeles. The Bobcat T7X all-electric compact track loader and two electric compact excavators, the E32e and E10e, were highlighted on this one-of-a-kind tour. Each of these new models is a viable option to diesel equipment for government and private fleets trying to cut carbon emissions and noise levels on the jobsite. Leaders from the California Air Resources Board, the City of Los Angeles, the Port of Los Angeles, Stanislaus County, and other government agencies, as well as Sunbelt Rentals, Bobcat dealers, and construction firms, attended the events. Attendees were able to test drive the machines, watch live demonstrations, and speak with the inventors behind the electric-powered off-road vehicles. “These electric, off-road construction machines are a promising step in our aim to increase access to clean off-road equipment that produces near-zero emissions in California,” Ge further added, “The commercialization of cleaner off-road technologies shown at these events are exciting examples supporting the state’s transition to a clean energy economy.” William Robertson, Ph.D., vehicle program specialist with the Mobile Source Control Division at the California Air Resources Board Bobcat is the first company in the compact size range to market an all-electric construction machine. Sunbelt Rentals, a leading equipment rental firm with over 1,050 locations across North America, is the first to purchase a large fleet of T7X loaders and electric compact excavators. Beginning in July, Sunbelt Rental clients in California and other parts of the United States will be able to rent these pieces of equipment. The all-electric Bobcat T7X compact track loader is the first of its kind, with no hydraulic components, fewer pollutants, and decreased vibrations. The T7X got two 2022 CES Innovation Awards in the categories of Vehicle Intelligence & Transportation and Smart Cities after its debut at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas in January 2022. This was the first opportunity for the general public to try out the T7X since its debut at CES. The new E32e and E10e battery-powered compact excavators have a compact footprint, silent operation, and zero emissions, and perform as well as or better than diesel-powered equipment. The electrical motors give full torque at any rpm, which allows for high productivity, smooth hydraulic control, and the ability to do more than one thing at any time without a noticeable loss of power.
