Czech industrial production and construction down in January 2019

bne IntelliNews | March 19, 2019

Both industrial production and construction have been weakening since beginning of this year. Industrial production contracted by 1.1% and construction by 13.2% year-on-year in January 2019, according to data by the Czech Statistics Office (CSO) published on March 15. Seasonally adjusted industrial production fell by 1.3% month-on-month in January 2019, with the value of new orders increasing by 1.9 y/y.
Seasonally adjusted construction increased by 2.9% m/m, with approximate value of permitted constructions up by 17.3% y/y, mostly due to favourable weather conditions which enabled construction workers to carry out all types of construction work without any limitation, the Office reported.
A year-on-year decline in industry was caused mainly by production of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers, which dropped by 6.9%. The most significant fall was recorded in automotive industry caused by production shutdowns, said the Head of the Office's Industry Statistics Department Iveta Danisova, the Czech News Agency reported.

Whether you work in the construction, mining, or aggregates sectors, stockpile management is a critical requirement on any job site. But measuring stockpiles can be unsafe, time-consuming, and expensive. This puts you in a difficult position. You need accurate data to run your business operations, but you shouldn’t have to send your survey team into the field for hours to clamber across stockpiles on a dangerous job site.

Langley Company, WalkOn Plans, Brings Revolutionary Building Technology to the Lower Mainland

WalkOn Plans | July 29, 2021

WalkOn Plans introduces new and innovative technology to the building industry by allowing people engaged in the construction process to walk around the project before it starts. This technology is being introduced to Canada for the first time by the company. WalkOn Plans brings blueprints to life by projecting them inside their facility, allowing customers to see each room in their architectural design at a real 1:1 scale. This one-of-a-kind experience minimizes the probability of costly post-construction modifications and provides more control to both commercial and residential projects. "Toward the end of 2019, I was speaking with a couple of individuals who were building a house. They were having difficulty choosing which designs to choose from their designer," explains Andrew Vanderwoerd, Principal and Founder of WalkOn Plans. "They were making this big choice based on a set of PDF plans, basically putting all of their faith in someone else to make their dream home a reality. "I told myself, 'there has to be a better way!'" WalkOn Plans caters to everyone engaged in the building process, from families to architects to builders, to guarantee that everyone is a part of the experience from drawing to completion. WalkOn Plans is now accepting new customers who want to envision their building ideas before they begin construction completely. About WalkOn Plans A building project, whether commercial or residential, is a significant financial investment. You want to be certain that the final product will be in keeping with the architectural designs. Consider walking through your project before it starts to be built. Walkon Plans offers a whole new visualization concept for homebuilders, architects, real estate agents, and everyone else in between.
