Cupix Announces Site Insights to Digitally Track As-Built Construction Progress

Cupix | November 17, 2021

Cupix, the high-growth pioneer of cutting-edge 3D digital twin solutions for architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industries and facility owners, announced the launch of Site Insights, a powerful new feature of its CupixWorks 3D digital twin technology platform, to track progress seamlessly and stay one step ahead of changes. The end result is that projects run more smoothly, making it easier for owners to stay informed, and helping builders stay on time, on track and on budget.

One of the many unique key features of CupixWorks is the platform’s ability to combine information capture, ingestion, data analysis and context into a single system for tracking and managing construction progress. Site Insights expands the power of the CupixWorks platform by quantifying job-site context and progress data users can ingest and analyze to make actionable, data-driven decisions faster than ever before.

Site Insights will enable CupixWorks customers to leapfrog current visual project tracking by delivering on the widest range of quantifiable insights that ensure that projects remain on schedule and on budget. For example, Site Insights reveals the proper time to generate subcontractor invoices based on the percentage of completed work. Also, Site Insights can capture, quantify, and share percentage metrics on deviations that building elements experience between the original Building Information Management (BIM) file and as-built progress. This reduces errors and rework, and it provides a crucial metric that saves owners and project managers significant time and expenses.

“Job sites change daily, and general contractors and building owners need to extract high-value insights from progress tracking quickly and easily,Site Insights delivers that in a whole new way.”

-Simon Bae, CEO and founder of Cupix

The new feature will provide several innovative capabilities that are already in high demand, including:

As-Built Updating. On-site updating of BIM files is typically ignored or happens, at best, on a quarterly basis. With Site Insights, BIM managers and Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) specialists have a system to streamline and share as-built updates.

Error Identification & Rework Prevention. Critical errors are often missed or overlooked on-site. By having an intelligent system that can analyze data captured on site alongside BIM files, Site Insights can reduce deviation and site misses on a consistent basis.

Payment Reconciliation. By creating a single system and source of truth that tracks percentage completion of various project elements, owners, project managers and supervisors know when to generate invoices accordingly for general contractors and sub-contractors, preventing delays and removing friction from the payment process.

Progress & Schedule Updates. With better access to progress data on a regular basis, project managers can better schedule the flow of goods and services and prevent late deliveries.

About Site Insights:
Site Insights works seamlessly with the CupixWorks platform, the industry’s most advanced 3D digital twin platform, enabling facility owners, general contractors and project managers to build smarter, transforming any construction site into an easy-to-manage project, creating value across the entire life cycle of a property. No longer just available to only large organizations, CupixWorks is democratizing 3D digital twin technologies to become the de facto standard in the industry for its ability to make construction projects more efficient and profitable, especially when working remotely.

Site Insights is currently available via an invitation-only pilot program for AEC firms and building owners. It is already being deployed in construction sites around the world, where customers are finding new innovative ways to put it to good use. The pilot program aims to reveal use cases and capabilities that will complement the current feature before becoming generally available in the first half of 2022.

Render’s Expanded Platform Now Supports All Construction and Maintenance Projects

Render Networks | June 14, 2022

Global leader in geospatial network construction technology, Render Networks, announced the expansion of its Network Construction Platform to include three solutions: Render Scale, Render Connect, and Render Redline - designed to reduce the time and effort required to manage all sizes and types of network builds. The broadband industry is preparing to support over 10 million FTTH connections by the end of 2023. However, not all activity is focused on large, one-time fiber deployments. Increasingly, network operators and construction contractors are looking to solve adjacent construction challenges with the same field productivity and downstream efficiencies. The platform’s broader capabilities now streamline construction beyond large-scale deployment, including stand-alone GIS redline changes, small or high-volume network maintenance works and customer drops. Render Scale is the company’s flagship geospatial construction solution for managing large-scale deployment. Render’s Digital Construction Blueprint transforms network designs into a task-level GIS scope, harnessing the power of automation and machine learning to achieve industry-leading outcomes. Render’s customer portfolio has seen production rate increases of up to 30%, and direct project cost and schedule benefits of 20%. Render Connect is a fast-start offering designed to manage small or high-volume builds with highly efficient digital construction processes. Protect margins with faster scoping and turnover of assets for customer connections and ongoing operations and maintenance work. Render Redline is a light-touch redline change solution that helps construction teams simplify their redline change process with real-time GIS data capture and management. Working alongside existing construction systems and tools, Render Redline is simple to use and cuts redline change management overheads by up to 50%. Network and construction teams are actively seeking responsive, agile, and innovative solutions that unlock new efficiencies, especially faster build times.” Sam Pratt,Render CEO “Render consistently enables network operators and EPCs to achieve some of the best network construction outcomes delivered across the industry. With the addition of Render Redline and Render Connect, our innovation now solves for the full breadth of network construction works, from initial deployment, through to customer connection drops and ongoing maintenance works.” “By lowering barriers of entry and creating a new Redline change management solution, all network operators and construction teams can access Render and deliver outstanding results for the customers and communities they exist to serve.” About Render Networks Founded in 2013 with a mission to build networks better, Render has a successful history of streamlining large-scale network construction for CSPs and construction teams. Through the automation of manual tasks and improved utilization of resources, Render’s end-to-end geospatial network construction platform eliminates all paper-based processes, achieving real-time progress transparency and generating time and costs efficiencies of greater than 30% and improving visibility and control across global telco infrastructure rollouts.

MobiDev Explains AI Application Development Stages for Business Owners

MobiDev | June 17, 2022

AI project creation is much closer to scientific research than it is to classic software development. Engineers often start the journey by diving deep into the business case and available data, exploring existing approaches and models. MobiDev overviewed how a typical AI app development process grows in five stages. BUSINESS ANALYSIS To prepare input, we need to consider the business problem. Businesses address app development companies with the business problem, and it's the job of the latter to find the intersection point of the business and the capability of AI. MACHINE LEARNING PROBLEM DETERMINATION The next stage is determination of the ML (Machine Learning) problem. This must take into account the technological capabilities of Artificial Intelligence subfields, such as Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, Speech recognition, Forecasting, Generative AI, and others. DATA COLLECTION There are two main data types — specific and general. General data can be obtained from open-source data websites, so all we must do comes down to narrowing the scope of the target audience, putting emphasis on the particular region, gender, age, or other crucial factors. If the client has no data, yet intends to implement the AI component, there are six sources to draw data from. POC DEVELOPMENT A business owner may wonder whether the accuracy of the project would be sufficient. An AI engineer isn't always ready to answer this question since it could be a new niche. PoC comes to the rescue, showing the minimal accuracy that can be obtained. Most remarkably, binary decisions are 50% accurate, just like a coin toss. NEW ITERATION AND/OR PRODUCTION The next step after the first PoC can be a new iteration of PoC with further improvements or deployment. Creating a new PoC implies data addition, processing of cases, error analysis, etc. The number of iterations is conditional and depends on the project. AboutMobiDev MobiDev is an international software engineering company with offices in Poland and Ukraine. The company is focused on helping visionaries create their products.
