CCSD's STEM initiative wants to help girls reach for the stars

The demand for jobs in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math, or STEM is on the rise. Nevada STEM Hub says demand for these jobs is growing by 14 percent. Now, a local program in the Clark County School District is trying to help meet that need. Around 50 middle school girls are blasting off on a mission. Snehal Bhaka runs The #GirlsinSTEM and #GirlsinTech initiative for the Clark County School District. He watched as students listened to experts explain their careers, do hands-on activities and watch the 3D space exploration film Touch The Stars.
