Siemens DI SW offers the possibility to upload up to 5 GB of CAD data in various formats found on our CAD File Sharing Portal. 3D CAD formats NX, Solid Edge, STEP, ProE, SolidWorks, Inventor, Neutral 3D formats JT, Iges, Step, VRML, Parasolid, STL, 2D formats Solid Edge and DWG, This data can be viewed online directly in the browser where sharing content with other users is also possible. The result is a simple collaboration platform that is free of charge.
Every five years, in the approach to the Welsh Parliament /Senedd Cymru elections, I put together a Manifesto for ICE Wales Cymru outlining our recommendations for the future with the aim of influencing the new ‘order’ and achieving what we consider to be important goals. There are a handful of pretty cool accessories for your smartphone that can be very useful to those of us in the construction industry, like thermal imaging cameras, in-wall imagers, and inspection cameras. None of those, however, help with BIM coordination, unlike a system that I just found from construction software giant, Trimble. Many different systems have been created in recent years to harness the power of augmented reality on the jobsite, with BIM the core focus of many of those solutions, but this system from Trimble is a bit different than all of them. Using an AR enabled smartphone, Trimble SiteVision combines hardware and software to virtually project BIM models onto the jobsite you’re standing in.
