DoD Awards Cloud Contract to Smartronix

The Department of Defense (DoD) on Jan. 19 selected Smartronix to provide on-premises cloud services. Smartronix is a global IT and engineering company based in Hollywood, Md. This contract is part of the National Institutes of Health Information Technology Acquisition and Assessment Center’s $20 billion CIO-SP3 governmentwide acquisition contract. It is different from the U.S. Army’s contract enlisting IBM build a private cloud data center, which was announced on Jan. 18.
