The National Institution for Transforming India (NITI), an Indian government policy commission, has published its SDG India Index and Dashboard 2020-21 report on progress against the UN Sustainable Development Goals at the state level in India, its third annual report.
The main theme of this year’s report is ‘partnerships’, with NITI aiming to highlight the pace that can be achieved by working together in pursuit of the goals, as well as shine a light on the quiet but effective partnerships working away in the background.
As part of this, the report sets out actions that have been taken across the 11 areas of the collaborative advantage framework to drive forward progress on SDG indicators.
In the accompanying index, all Indian states and union territories are scored and ranked on each SDG, alongside progress over the year.
Green and sustainable – these have become the main objectives of most construction projects being made today. And why not when they offer a lot of benefits not just to the environment but to the building owner and occupants too. When we hear of sustainability, the first context that comes to mind is that of the environment. But since the EIA U.S. Energy Information Administration reports that almost 50% of CO2 is emitted by buildings, it’s about time sustainability is spoken widely also in the context of architecture.
Across the business landscape, we’re seeing a wholesale movement of services to the Cloud as companies wake up to the benefits of capacity and flexibility that accompany such a shift away from hosting systems on servers. While there are clear advantages to migrating to the cloud, there are challenges too – such as layers of added complexity. Testing these cloud-based systems to make sure they stand up under duress is important, but the heightened complexity of these environments means that the role of Quality Assurance has had to evolve accordingly.
Cutting-edge technology is changing the way things are done in many fields, including construction. At Tucker Paving, we know the importance of keeping up with the times in order to remain productive and competitive. Advances are being made in construction to allow for quicker build times, safer working conditions, and overall improved architecture. Here are a few of the innovations changing the industry right now.
